Victor Ikem is the Founder and Managing Director of Conversation Media Limited. For the last sixteen years, he has been involved in Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Media, and Communication, providing guidance to businesses and corporate entities across various sectors, including Banking, Energy/Oil & Gas, Entertainment, Manufacturing, Real Estate, and Charity.
Victor possesses a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, and a Ph.D. in Communication & Media Studies, earned from Delta State University, the University of Lagos, and Babcock University, respectively. His journey in advertising and marketing began at Brand Believers Limited as a Client Service Executive, after which he transitioned to Young & Rubicam (Y&R) Advertising as a Senior Client Service Manager, and subsequently to DDB Casers as Deputy Manager of Client Service and Assistant Director of Client Services, overseeing the MTN Value Added Services Business (VAS), British American Tobacco, Chi Limited, Unilever, and other prominent clients. Throughout his career, Victor served as a Brand Manager for Campari Bitters and various Wine & Spirits brands (owned by the leading global alcoholic beverage company based in Milan, Groupo Campari) at Brian Munro Limited. He was also the Product Marketing Manager for LG Electronics West Africa, managing the Air Conditioner and Energy Solutions Division (LGAE) with responsibilities covering 23 countries in West and Central Africa from his base in Lagos. He held the position of Corporate Communications Manager overseeing the Products Marketing Unit at Union Bank (the oldest financial institution in Nigeria), where he managed the Products & Trade Marketing function for the Retail Banking Division. He was instrumental in the introduction of Unionkorrect and Union goal (new products), which became the bank's flagship retail offerings. With extensive experience and a broad viewpoint on Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations, Victor has extensively authored pieces on Marketing, Branding, and Advertising, and has served as a resource person and adjunct lecturer at the APCON Advertising School, where he instructed students in Advertising Practice and other relevant courses for the Diploma and Certificate in Advertising programs. He is a member of several professional and academic organizations, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the Advertising Practitioner's Council of Nigeria (APCON), the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI), and the African Council for Communication Education, among other international professional and academic institutions.
